An update on fulfillment and a personal note from Nolan

Hey neighbors, Nolan here.

For those who don't know me: I'm the co-founder and CEO of Deep Water Games. I wanted to personally say sorry we haven't been as communicative as normal, but... we’ve been dealing with a tragedy: 

Last week my best friend Bret, passed away and it’s taken a serious toll on me and all of Deep Water Games. Things came to a screeching halt while I dealt with the aftermath. I finally had the energy today to return to work. Bret and I met at GenCon in 2014 and it’s important to me to share that because gaming is what sparked the greatest friendship of my life. Bret was so proud of DWG In fact he did the voice over for this campaign video. Hopefully y’all can understand why we’ve been distant. Do me a favor: If you know someone struggling with depression, reach out to them or a loved one, see how they’re doing, and invite them to play board games. If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you love. You’re not alone <3  

Lastly, we’re going to be donating a portion of all our web sales from now until March to a charity or foundation in his name. If you’d like to show some support it’d be greatly appreciated. Anything you order from Deep Water Games or our partner companies: n3art and Source Point Press will go towards this donation. 

Fulfillment:

Fulfillment is still on track for March! Almost everything in production is done. We’re just working on aggregating all the parts and waiting on some assembly. It looks like we should be able to start fulfilling orders of the base game within 1 week! 

How this process is going to work: A lot of people and DWG employees are going to volunteer their time in the evenings every Monday through Thursday to work on packaging and shipping out every order. By mid-march we’ll have already fulfilled about 1/4th of the orders and every product should be in our hands to finish the remaining 3/4th. There are a ton of backers, and not nearly enough time in the day, so you will be getting your packages in waves. That also means there’s a chance some fulfillment will run into April. I want to be completely transparent about this now so you can set your expectations. 

Production status:

Base Game: In hand
  Playmat: In hand
  Player Aids: in hand
  Dry erase sheets: in hand
  Original refills: In hand
  Expansion pads: In production domestically so turn around will be quick.
  Solo Ai Cards: Almost complete and air shipping to our warehouse.
  Wooden Card trays: Almost complete

Hey Neighbors! Update your address today! 

Backerkit is locking down and we're gearing up to begin fulfilling this kickstarter as soon as possible. We'll lock addresses tonight so you have the rest of the day to update your information.

Timeline and production

Like any good kickstarter we encountered a couple minor delays with manufacturing. However, we planned for this and got a really good jump start on our production. 

Everything is in motion and we'll be getting inventory into our warehouse by the end of February! So we're right on track for a March delivery. 

There's a lot of moving pieces so there could always be more road bumps but we're very confident everything is on track for delivering in March!

New Year New Info!

We hope you all had an amazing Holiday as we progressed from 2018 to 2019!!

Time really flies when you are doing what you love and speaking of time our timeline has gotten really interesting.

Nothing to worry about as we are still way ahead of schedule but there’s a ton of moving parts and we want to keep you all as informed as we can as we wrangle all of these critical moving parts.

Everything is in production!

Everything will be in hand by the first week of February and fulfillment will start immediately!!

Even with so many moving parts, we are still a month ahead of our predicted dates!

Team Deep Water Games has decided to handle all fulfillment in house so it should go smoothly as we can supervise things directly.

The best system we have devised is to fulfil Backer Rewards in waves. We'll have more details on how all that works in the coming Updates.

International backers will be sent to their respective fulfillment houses in their country and that always causes a few hiccups, but we are confident that our international partners have got our backs to ensure things go as smoothly as possible.

Backerkit and pre-orders will close in 2 weeks.

January 28th will be the cut off date to get your orders in! We'll work with all our retailers and group pledges before that and even after to ensure everything is taken care of.

Year End Workshop Update

Hello Holiday backers!!

Deep Water Games elves are toiling away in our workshop to make sure we fill your new year with cheer!!

This week we've got an updated timeline for production and fulfillment:

• December 26th (TODAY!!) All files are prepped for production
• January 2nd everything is in production
• January 4th base game arrives in warehouse (was in production ahead of time)
• January 10th close pre-order store
• January 28th all expansion Materials are on hand

As soon as we have the base game on hand we're going to start prepping packages so that way once the expansion materials are on hand we can just add them to the package, seal, and start shipping. 

We have a team of top elves who'll be working tirelessly to get as many orders fulfilled as fast as humanly (elfenly?!?) possible!

However, there are A LOT of moving parts so, things might come up. We'll keep you informed and updated if this schedule shifts at all, however we're feeling very confident that we're ahead of the curve right now!   

This will be our last Update for 2018. From all of us at Deep Water Games; have a safe and comfortable holiday season full of love and joy.

Production & Fulfillment Timeline

Hello backers!

Things are moving right along here at DWG as we work hard to meet our goals while trying to take the time to appreciate all the amazing gifts this year has brought, including all of you!!

With our Backerkit surveys 90% complete, the remaining 10% still have time to get their orders finalized.

We anticipate being able to begin fulfillment of Starter Home by mid January, 2019! This is still tentative as there are a lot of moving parts. However, we're doing everything we can to get you your rewards as quickly as possible! 

With over 4,000 fantastic backers and fulfilling the project ourselves we will need to space out the shipments as much as possible to ensure timely delivery.

Current Timeline

• January 1, 2019 - Everything is ready for production
• January 10, 2019 - Close Backetkit & Pre-order Store
• January 21, 2019 - Complete Production
• February 4, 2019 - Materials on Hand

Fulfillment will take place from February through March (ideally early February for most).

We are on track to have everything in production or ready for production January 1st!!

The Deep Water Games Team is excited to get these rewards out to you ASAP!
